Generally Teddy is referred to some soft toys. Here teddy stands for ‘Teddy Bear’. Basically teddy bear is a soft toy which is filled with some soft stuff, like cotton and it has smooth fur. 

Here is a short story about why and how the first teddy bear was created.

The teddy bear has came from United state. There was a king who went for hunting in jungle. After a very long chase they caught a bear and tied it with a tree and asked the king to shoot him. But suddenly the felt sorry for his cruelness and ordered to leave the bear. This news was published into various newspapers with certain cartoon sketches, in these sketches the bear was made very small and innocent. The king felt that he should make a toy of bear and then teddy bear came into existence.

Teddy is the symbol of softness. Teddy day is celebrated to retain softness and sweetness in love. On teddy day gifting teddy bear is the main thing. People gift soft teddy bear toys to their loved ones.♥
